Strategic Project Services
Project establishment
Joint venture & alliance strategy development, facilitation, establishment and maintenance
- Development, establishment and implementation of the Toowoomba Pipeline Alliance. This alliance successfully delivered the Toowoomba Pipeline Project under a fast track design & delivery model. Robin was a member of the Alliance Board throughout the project.
- Development, establishment and implementation of the WDS-York Civil joint venture for the construction of the Innisfail Sewage Treatment Plant. This joint venture successfully delivered the project, which was awarded the 2012 Queensland Civil Contractors Federation “Earth Awards” for excellence in Civil Construction category 4.
Project planning, including contingency planning or planning for major project phase changes such as commissioning, completion, operations and demobilisation
- Planning - on behalf of the client BrisConnections - for potential commercial outcomes of the submission of multiple extension of time claims by principal contractor Thiess John Holland on the Airport Link project. Development of an option for commercial resolution that was subsequently implemented.
Project execution
Problem project and project issue reviews, particularly earned value, cost, risk, safety performance, project organisation, project systems, project culture and project communication.
- Implementation of a comprehensive project review process for the Energy & Infrastructure (E&I) Division of WDS Ltd, including detailed assessment of project earned value and financial performance.
Claims strategy preparation, assessment, negotiation and resolution
- Management - on behalf of the client BrisConnections - of principal contractor Thiess John Holland’s Force Majeure claims in relation to construction of Airport Link.
Strategic Business Services
Business strategy development
- Development of the divisional strategy for the E&I Division of WDS Ltd, including the inaugural establishment of coherent mission, vision, and value statements and commensurate strategic objectives. Significant elements of this strategy were subsequently adopted by WDS Ltd.
Merger, acquisition and joint venture strategy development and implementation
- Oversight of and commercial input into the due diligence process - on behalf of BrisConnections - for the potential merger or joint venture of the BrisConnections tolling operation with the RiverCity Motorway tolling operation.
Interim Executive Services
Short to mid-term full time executive role fulfilment
- Appointment as CEO of the E&I Division of WDS Ltd, an ASX listed entity, from 2008 to 2011.
